Love Notes is Cost Effective!

In a 5-year federally funded randomized controlled trial, researchers found that young people in the Love Notes group were more likely to choose to use condoms and contraception and engage in sexual activity less frequently. Most importantly, youth were statistically less likely to get pregnant.

In fact, the young people who were taught the Love Notes program were 46% less likely to experience pregnancy within 1 year compared to those in the control group. You can read about this outcome in the peer reviewed journal article by clicking here.

It is the 46% less likely to get pregnant outcome that makes the Love Notes program especially cost effective.

According to researchers at the University of Louisville, Love Notes actually saves the state more money than is spent on it. Here is a screenshot of their analysis, illustrating how much money the State of Kentucky saved due to the implementation of the Love Notes program and the subsequent prevention of numerous pregnancies.

While there may be some less expensive teen pregnancy programs available, there are none that are more effective at teen pregnancy prevention for both boys and girls as Love Notes. This effectiveness in turn saves states more money than the additional cost of the Love Notes materials.
